The King

King Henrik Lundqvist, the best goalie in all of the NHL he's the main reason that the Rangers are not only the top seed in the playoffs but also the reason why theres a game 7 vs those stupid Canadians from Ottawa. Their "Henrik Sucks" chant is so poor and uncreative that they should be ashamed of themselves. Just because Anderson is having an above average playoffs so far, it doesn't even compare to the level of play that The King has proven over and over again. If the Rangers are going to win game 7 as well as the rest of the playoffs, Lundqvist will have to bring his A-game. The defense also needs to pick up their game - Ryan McDonough can't be on the ice for the whole time, Staal and Girardi will have to pick up their game. Richards is starting to heat up and at the right time because we need him to be a leader on the ice. Gabby needs to keep up the good work and show why he's one of the leading points leader in the NHL. Dubby has not had a stellar season thus far and even know he was on the trading block for Nash, if he wants to remain in NY he needs to use these playoffs as a proving ground. The power play has been effective and it needs to keep remaining effective. Rupp and Prust have to keep up the momentum as enforcers on the ice - Prust brought us back in the game in game 6 with his fight vs that scumbag Neal. Game 7 is at the toughest place for an opponent to play - The Garden. Its one of the loudest most intimidating stadiums in all of sports. The Rangers need to take one game at a time like they have all season but as other teams such as the Flyers start to heat up and prove themselves as contenders, the Rangers need to show why they are the best team in the NHL. WE WANT THE CUP!!!

Revis Holdout

NY Post  Two years after a contentious holdout between Darrelle Revis and the Jets, the two sides look to be headed for Round 2. Revis, appearing at a charity function in Manhattan last night, said he is unsure whether he will hold out of training camp this summer in hopes of renegotiating his deal. ”I just don’t know,” Revis said before being honored by the Big Brothers Big Sisters NYC. “I’m not saying I am going to hold out. I’m not saying I’m not going to hold out. I just don’t know. Right now my focus is being on the team.” The Jets and the All-Pro cornerback Revis agreed to a four-year, $46 million contract in 2010 after a 35-day holdout. There has been speculation Revis would hold out, though, because the contract was viewed as a short-term fix and not a long-term solution by both sides. Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum even called it an “intermediate step” at the time. There might be some disagreement about how short-term the contract was intended to be.  Revis made $32.5 million over the past two years, but his compensation drops dramatically this year. He is scheduled to make $7.5 million in 2012 and $6 million in 2013. That is hardly the market value for the best cornerback in football. The 26-year-old (he turns 27 in July) did not want to discuss his contract in depth at the charity event last night. Asked directly if he could rule out a holdout, he wouldn’t, though. ”Right now we’re just thinking about me being a part of the team, being a leader for this team and getting ready for the season.”

Here we go again, Revis better not pull any shenanigans like he did two years ago. We have enough going on right now with Tebow-mania and Sanchez too worried about getting Taco Bell than being the next great NY Jets QB. Revis and our secondary is our one unflustered bright spot on the team and now if he holds out again Jet Nation might have another heart attack. Even though he's not saying he's definitely holding out - the fact that he's even thinking about it scares me. He is without a doubt the best corner in the NFL and possibly the best athlete overall in the NFL. He shuts down every teams best receiver and even when teams try to throw to him, he either pics it off and scores a TD or he knocks its down. We cannot afford to lose this guy.

JETER For MVP

First off What a STUD!! Jeter is probably somewhere in Texas right now slamming out some big haired blondies and then sending them home on a horse with a signed baseball gift basket. At 36 years old he's playing like he's 26. He's batting .416 and averaging at least 2 hits a game and has 4 dingers (almost half of what he had all of last year). We think that since the 3000 hit mark is behind him he's has nothing to worry about but just playing ball. He has proven once and again that he not only is the leader and face of this organization but also a core reason why the Yankees keep winning. Solid hitting and his continuous gold glove ability will undoubtedly earn him at least a nom for AL MVP. Thank god Matt Kemp is in the NL cus that dude is on fireee. Anyway Jeter has been and will always be my favorite baseball player of all time and he certainly should be a 1st ballot Hall of Famer along with MO. Yanks win 28 this year, I can feel it.

2012 NBA Playoffs

As the regular season is coming to a close, the 2012 NBA Playoffs are going to start very soon. As LBJ and the Heat look to gain their first championship with the big 3 its going to be interesting to see what Melo, Pierce, and Rose have in store for them. Also in the West, Kobe and the Lakers look to get their 6th ring tying Jordan and solidifying himself as the greatest Laker of all time. However, the surging Spurs and the fast paced Thunder have other plans in store. All I know is that it is certainly going to be a very tight race for that championship ring. We broke down our perspective brackets to show what we thought the outcome of the playoffs would be.

Eastern Conference

\

Even though we all wish the Knicks would make a run, it just doesn't look like its going to happen that way, especially with soon to be MVP Lebron James playing like he was back in the '07 Finals. In the conference finals the Bulls with an ailing D. Rose will not be enough once again to beat Miami's Big 3.

Western Conference
In the Western Conference, Kobe's playoff magic will only make it so far. As he and KD compete right now for the scoring title, the Thunder just have a better overall team and expect a big game by Ibaka and Westbrook.

NBA FINALS

VS.

Therefore, in the finals we have picked the Thunder and El Heat to square off in a best of 7 series. We all remember LBJ's absence in the 4th quarter of last years finals and even though we don't think that will happen again. We do believe that the Heat will lose again and for one main reason....THE BEARD

JAMES HARDEN

Now more than ever he's been playing at the next level making a big name for himself. Even though he's out for a few games with that concussion, it is basketball and that won't stop him from lighting it up from 3. Westbrook and Wade will cancel each other out with their drives to the hoop and KD and LBJ will each average 30 or more points in the game. The big difference is that Ibaka's and Perkin's size will dominate Bosh and they won't have an answer for the BEARD. Thus we have the OKC Thunder taking the championship trophy back to Oklahoma City, leaving Lebron crying with his MVP trophy.

Luck Will be the #1 Pick in the NFL Draft

After rumors from sources came out last week saying the the Colts have told Andrew Luck that they will indeed be picking him #1 overall in this Thursday's NFL Draft, Colts GM, Ryan Grigson,  came out today and confirmed these rumors.  Although this has been the worst kept secret it is probably a relief for Luck to hear this after RG III has been on his tail all season winning the Heisman and performing well at the NFL combine.  Congrats to Andrew Luck but be ready for the expectations that will come with playing for a franchise that was spoiled by one of the greatest QBs of all time.

Bristolmetrics

This is an interesting way to see what sports stories are  getting the most coverage on ESPN's Sportscenter.  It splits the statistics up into categories of athletes, sports, and individual teams.  It counts the players by number of mentions and sports and teams by the amount of time they were discussed during the week on Sportscenter. World Peace Suspended 7 Games

Metta World Peace has been suspended 7 games for his elbow which gave James Harden a concussion.  It's not to hard to tell that he had the intention of hitting Harden because he clearly bumps into while celebrating and then threw a vicious elbow.  World Peace is known for his mental instability but this just took it way to far.  If he really didn't mean to hit Harden why would have he taken a defensive stance when the other Thunder players went after him.  Make your own decision but this I feel this is a warranted fine for "Metta being Metta."
